a dog is a dog is a dog

at the tapioca farm, at K's half-way house, in the wilderness of jk, along the gentle creek of wild lalangs, among the bushes of Singapore's remaining secondary forests... the dogs run rampantly wild, without a care in the world.

with carefree steps and mid-air somersaults, space is a luxury they enjoy and the timelessness of the wild makes life a bed of roses, everyday. they grunt, they growl, tout each other, pounce on each other, race, chase, rumble and tumble, in the mud, the dew of the grass, the soil of earth on which they were born and learnt to make their natural surroundings their playground, hiding place, refuge of safety and solace. natural expression and behaviour unhindered.

juxtapose this scene of the near-Arcadian against our domestic Max trotting along the concrete slabs of the urban jungle, his moves dictated by the tug of the leash that bound him to his Master, being made to "Sit", "Stand", "Heel" and "Stay" : look at the world from the pair of eyes of a dog, which would you rather?

even in our civilized world as we try to juggle the balance between Master and Dog and ensure that both species co-exist under the same roof in delicate harmony, we must not fail to forget to leave a dog be. overhumanization of a dog is almost equitable to we, as modern Man, de-mutating to ape-like movements and behaviour.

because after all, however much we train our dogs and read literature on it and bring it to the vet with its plethora of injections and pills, a dog is a dog is a dog.

today, comet is taken from the glowing warmth of his birthplace, where his mother groomed him and lied next to him before she died, where she was buried, and from thence, he begins this new chapter of life with his new family. God bless comet.

Hi dear friends of the animals,

I'm thankful for all your love and hard work for these dogs and your effort and careful tasks for re-homeing the pups and all.

Thank you.
